The image used in these products comes from a scan of an original photo that was used in “History of Homes and Gardens in Tennessee,” published by the Garden Study Club of Nashville in 1936 and reprinted in 1964 and 1974. The original photograph was given to the garden club by Mary Daniel Moore (Mrs John Trotwood Moore), who was the great-great-great-granddaughter of James Roddye and his first wife, Catherine Chase, through their oldest son, Jesse, and his daughter, Elizabeth. The image is used with the permission of the Tennessee State Library and Archives, and the original photo can be found the in Garden Study Club of Nashville collection at the archives: History of Homes and Gardens in Tennessee, Box 1, image 75a Hamblen County.
All proceeds from items sold go toward Hayslope’s rehabilitation and restoration.
